ABOUT US

Who Are We?
The Luna Moth Circle is an intergenerational network of scholars, community groups, and youth organizations dedicated to advancing climate change education, mental health expertise, and strengthening the capacity of professionals who support children, youth and families.
Why was the Luna Moth Circle created?
We aim to fill a critical gap: the lack of specialized resources and support for professionals working with families and youth facing the growing mental health impacts of climate change.

Why the Luna Moth?
The Luna Moth symbolizes the transformative journey we envision for all course participants. Chosen as a guiding metaphor, it reflects the growth, challenges, and insights learners may encounter as they engage with the complex intersections of climate change and youth mental health.

Metamorphasis
The Luna Moth’s transformation mirrors the personal growth and learning journey participants undergo throughout the course.

Intergenerational
The Luna Moth’s climate-dependent generations reflect the transgenerational impacts of climate change and the need for collaboration across age groups.

Youth Voices
As adult moths have no mouth, they symbolize the importance of adults listening to youth voices on climate anxiety and action.
